Using the Artifact Roll-Out Wizard to Roll Out Artifacts on One or More Devices
The following steps show how to assign different artifacts to devices using the Artifact Roll-out Wizard (e.g. configurations, setups, updates):
Search for and select the relevant device components in the device list using the search field and/or the filter function.
Clicking on the icon (Actions) at the right end of each device line opens the respective action selection.
Call up the Artifact Roll-out Wizard by clicking Roll-out artifacts.
Search for and select the relevant artifacts in the Artifact Roll-out Wizard. Note that the order in which the artifacts are clicked will also be the order in which the commands are later retrieved from the device.
The selection of artifacts can be further restricted by selecting the filter options in this section.
Click Next to open the second step in the Artifact Roll-out Wizard. The description of and schedule for the roll-out are created here.
In the Roll-out description field, create a brief description of the new roll-out. This is not a mandatory field, but it helps to find the roll-out when viewing the Activity Overview later.
In the Schedule roll-out selection, select Start immediately or Start manually later. If you select Start immediately, the planned roll-out with the previously selected artifacts is started immediately after creation. If Start manually later is selected, the planned roll-out is initially only displayed in the Activity Overview and can be started manually from there.
Click Next to display the summary of the selected artifacts for the planned roll-out.
Check the summary to see if all the correct artifacts have been selected for the roll-out process. If desired, enter a description for the Artifact Roll-out. This description will be displayed later in the Activity Overview.
Click Create Roll-outto create a batch command for each artifact.
Check the processing status of the roll-out and the batch commands in the Activity Overview.
An associated command has been created for each artifact (e.g. for software artifacts, an Install_Software or Update_Software command).
