Create Device for a Device Type

1. In the Device types tab, click a device type.

   The device type is selected.

2. In the working area, click Devices.

   The list of existing devices appears in the right-hand pane.

3. In the working area, click .

   The Create device dialog appears.

   

4. Enter details:
   • The Device type text field displays the previously selected device type. This cannot be changed.
   • A unique device identifier can be entered in the Technical ID text field.
   • In the Name text field, enter the name.
   • In the Description text field, you can enter a description.
   • If properties have been created for the device type, they will be assigned to the new device and Properties will be displayed here. The values of the properties can be edited. The edited values only apply to the newly created device.
5. Click Save.

The new device of the device type appears in the working area.
