Assign a property to a type or a group

Properties can be assigned to a group or a type. Properties are created on the Tool management > Tool control > Properties tab. The properties are adopted when a tool or a component of the type or the type's group is created. The value of the property can be entered in the tool or component.

Prerequisite

• Tool Management Expert or Tool Management Admin role
• A type or a group has been created.

Procedure

1. Call up the Tool management > Tool control > Types tab.

   Or:

   Open the Tool Management > Tool Control > Groups tab.

2. Select type or group.
3. In the detailed view, go to the Property tab.
4. Add property to the type or group with .

   

5. Select the Property by entering the name of the property in full or in part and selecting it from the drop-down list.
6. If it is necessary to fill in a property before releasing the tool, activate the Mandatory field checkbox.
7. To pre-populate a value for the property in the tool or component, enter the Default value.
8. Assign the property with Add.

The property is displayed in the Tool Management > Tool Control > Types or Tool Management > Tool Control > Group tab in the detailed view of the type or group in the Property tab.

• To edit the property, continue with Configure properties of the type or the group.
