Settings: Configuration tab

The Tool Management > Settings menu lists all of the Nexeed Tool Management parent settings. The Settings menu is only visible to users with the Tool Management Expert or Tool Management Admin role. The search function can be used to filter the settings.

Comment mode

The following comment modes are available:

  • Always:

    A comment must be entered in the event of a change in Nexeed Tool Management.

  • Optional:

    A comment may be entered in the event of a change in Nexeed Tool Management.

  • Never:

    No comments can be added for changes in Nexeed Tool Management.

Display "Counters" with "Tools & Components"

The Tool information > Counter monitor tab is shown.

Automatically generated tool/component names

When creating a tool or component, an automatically generated name can be specified.

The name can be specified freely.

The name is automatically generated upon creation. The name cannot be changed.

You can use drag-handle to drag and drop the options in the field. You can determine the order yourself.

The selection can be removed with Reset.

The following options are available:

  • Individual entry:

    The tool or component name can be entered individually. Special characters may be used, for example "Festo_". This field can be used several times.

  • Serial number:

    The serial number is inserted in the tool or component name. This can field can only be used once.

  • Type name:

    The name of the type with which the tool or component is created is inserted in the tool or component name. This can field can only be used once.

Warning dialog for external links

Defines whether a warning dialog is displayed to the user when an external link is selected.

The warning dialog is not displayed.

Blocking management

The blocking or releasing of tools or components in Nexeed Tool Management can be transferred to all modules of the Nexeed Industrial Application System.

Tools or components are not blocked or released in other modules of the Nexeed Industrial Application System.

Tools or components are blocked or released in all modules of the Nexeed Industrial Application System.

If block management is activated, the Severity and Parent plant settings appear.

Severity:

The severity is the assumed severity of the defect. A high number corresponds to a probable failure. A low number corresponds to an unlikely failure.

Parent plant:

If a parent plant is entered, blocking or release of the tool or component will only be active in the specified plant.
