The module Nexeed ERP Connectivity is a flexibly expandable interface and process integration module for the processes and domains contained in Nexeed IAS for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) level. Nexeed ERP Connectivity provides a single point of contact for configuration and monitoring, which is used to access the Enterprise Resource Planning level. This reduces operational costs and complexity and keeps the learning curve for integration and implementation flat. It also provides a stable and standardized view (interfaces/processes) of typical ERP-level objects for the IAS modules and the necessary platform functions for reliable messaging and maintainability, such as message buffering and automatic error handling (e.g. repeated message delivery). With Nexeed ERP Connectivity, BCI provides an open platform for this connection that includes the necessary tools and definitions, and on which internal integrations can be implemented. Nexeed ERP Connectivity establishes the connection and communication with the external ERP system using so-called "connector packages". “Orchestrator packages” are used for use cases in which several interfaces need to be called up.
Standard connector packages are available for common ERP systems (e.g. SAP S/4 HANA) (not part of the delivery). Other ERP systems and interfaces can be connected quickly and conveniently if required by developing additional connector packages.
An orchestrator package contains a workflow that connects several connector packages to one another. These are used, for example, if the use case requires interfaces to be executed in a certain order. Like connector packages, orchestrator packages also provide endpoints for calling them.
Note: Orchestrator packages and their workflows only cover the technically necessary aspect - the execution of several connector packages. The business logic must be implemented in accordance with the definition of the NEXEED IAS system architecture in the calling or target module.
Main Function
Roles and permissions
All modules of the Nexeed Industrial Application System are based on permissions. Depending on the permissions, different functions are available in a module.
To enable functions, the user is assigned a role based on the desired permission. Permissions are managed in the Nexeed Multitenant Access Control module.
The standard configuration of the module includes the following roles:
