Setting up a scanner

A scanner can be used in Nexeed Order Management to scan material labels and create the associated data.

1. In the status bar, double-click the scanner icon to open the Scanner Settings dialog box.
2. Press to activate editing.
3. Enter information about the scanner:
   • Handshake

     Handshake protocol for the transfer of data to serial interfaces

   • StopBits

     Default number of stop bits per byte (None, One, Two, OnePointFive)

   • DataBits

     Standard length for data bits per byte (value between 5 and 8)

   • Parity

     Parity check protocol (None, Odd, Even, Mark, Space)

   • Baud

     Serial baud rate

   • COM

     Interface (number) for communication with all available COM ports

   • ReReadDelayMS

     Time in milliseconds for which no data is received at the interface

   • Active

     Enable or disable communication with the serial scanner

   • Shared

     Enable or disable the device for other applications

   • MultipleInstancesAllowed

     Enable or disable multiple parallel instances of the scanner

4. Save the settings using .
5. Confirm the prompt with YES to apply the scanner settings.

The scanner is set up.
