Creating configuration rules

In the Admin Settings > Configuration Rules menu, rules are created that can be applied to materials (material class or material number). The configuration rule is applied to the material if the parameter specified in the rule matches the specified value.

The sequence of the created rules determines which rule is applied: The first rule, read from top to bottom, is applied.

  1. Open the Admin Settings > Configuration Rules menu.
  2. Activate editing in the Rules window using mdm_edit_icon.

  3. Use add_black to add a rule.

The new rule appears as the last line in the table.

  4. In the Rule Type column, select whether the configuration rule should be applied to a material class or material number.
  5. In the Search Text column, enter the material class or material number to which you want to apply the rule.
  6. Use drag-and-drop to move the rule to the desired position in the table.
  7. Use save to save the configuration rule.

The configuration rule receives an identifier.

  8. Activate editing in the Parameters window using mdm_edit_icon.

  9. Use add_black to add a parameter to the configuration rule.
  10. In the Parameter Type column, select one of the following parameter types from the drop-down list.

Each parameter type can only be assigned to a configuration rule once.

  12. Add and edit additional parameters if necessary.
  13. Use save to save the created parameters.

The rule is active and is applied.
