The module Nexeed Engineering is a system for configuring the communication types of stations with Nexeed IAS modules. In conjunction with the Nexeed Information Router and the Nexeed Orchestrator, it can be used to make functionalities of Nexeed IAS modules accessible to individual stations or groups of stations via workflows.
The information exchange is defined in the form of projects in the Nexeed Engineering module. In a project, lines and stations are defined with which the exchange of information is to be carried out. The exact scope of the information to be exchanged between station(s) and module is described in the form of workflows. The existing default workflows can be used for simple standard functionalities. If more complex functionalities are required, the graphical workflow editor can be used. The Workflow Editor offers comprehensive options for user-specific data exchange between the module and the station using graphical programming blocks.
The created workflows are assigned to the respective stations in the form of playlists. Playlists can contain one or more workflows.
Playlists are transferred to the Nexeed Orchestrator via the Nexeed Information Router and executed there. The IAS module addressed in the workflow returns the requested information to the station via the Nexeed Information Router.
Main Function
Roles and permissions
All modules of the Nexeed Industrial Application System are based on permissions. Depending on the permissions, different functions are available in a module.
To enable functions, the user is assigned a role based on the desired permission. Permissions are managed in the Nexeed Multitenant Access Control module.
The standard configuration of the module includes the following roles:
