Setting the Filter for the Search

To ensure that the search in the Device Overview view provides more specific results, it is possible to search for device information using both the search field and the filter.

  1. In the search field, enter the term to be searched for in all device properties and software information.

Searching for properties using time specification is only possible to a very limited extent, as the Device Portal interface does not exactly represent the format that needs to be searched.

One example is Last Seen in the Communication category. For example, it is possible to search using the format "2022-12-13," but not for the exact time.

  2. Click on Filter to select the additional device properties by which to filter.

    The Filter window opens.

  3. Click in the text field.

The drop-down list for selecting the filter options opens.

  4. To view more details about the filter options, click a filter category.

The specific properties are displayed on the right side of the window.

  5. Select the required filter properties.

The selected filter properties are displayed in the search field.

  6. After the required filter properties have been selected, they are automatically displayed below the filter search field.
  7. In the gray Search term fields, enter the terms with which to filter.

To remove a filter that has already been set, deactivate it with a check mark in the selection list.

  8. Click Search to set the filters and start the search.

The device list displays only the devices that meet the filter criteria. The set filter appears above the device list and can also be removed there.
