Distribution Overview — Creating Distributions

Distributions allow several elements (artifacts or custom commands) to perform their respective actions in succession on a device during the subsequent roll-out process. The following steps explain how to create a distribution and assign these elements to it.

1. Click Add above the distribution table to create a new distribution.

   The Create Distribution window appears.

   

   • Name: Enter a name for the new distribution to be created.
   • Device Type: Select the appropriate device types for the new distribution.
   • Version: Enter the version number for the new distribution to be created.
   • Description: Enter the description for the new distribution to be created.
2. Click Create to create the new distribution.

The new distribution is displayed first in the distribution table and preselected. Since no elements can be found in the distribution during the initial creation, the detail column with the elements remains empty.
