Importing Tools or Components

Several tools or components can be created at once in Nexeed Tool Management.

Tools can only be created if a tool type has been created.
Creating Type

Prerequisite

Tool Management Expert or Tool Management Admin role

• A type has been created and configured.

Procedure

1. Call up the Tool management > Tool control > Tools & components tab.
2. Create tools or components with .
3. In the Create tools/components window, call up the File import tab.

   

4. Select Type.

   Multiple tools or components cannot be created with different types. The selected type applies to all tools or components.

5. Download XLSX template and open template.

   A row in the XLSX file corresponds to a tool or a component.
   Required columns are marked with an asterisk in the header.

6. In the XLSX file, this concerns names, areas and serial numbers.
7. Save the XLSX file.
8. Upload the XLSX file with Select file.
9. Enter the Comment.
10. Create tools or components with Import.

The tools or components are displayed on the tabs Tool information > Tools & components and Tool control > Tools & components.

If the import fails, the associated error message is displayed above the bell in the upper right border.
