Editing a part type

The description of added part types can be changed.

Predefined part types cannot be edited.

Requirements

• At least one part type has been created.
  Creating a new part type
• Expert or Administrator role

Procedure

1. Open the Master data > Part types menu.
   Master data: Part types
2. Select the part type whose description is to be changed from the list of part types.

   Only part types that have been added to the predefined part types can be changed.

3. Use in the header to open the Edit part type dialog window.

   

4. Edit the description of the part type in the text box under Description.
5. Apply the changes using Edit.

The part type is displayed with the changed description in the list of part types. When creating a product parts list, the part type can be selected under the changed name.
