Attaching and Releasing Tools and Components in the Positioning Map

In the hierarchy, components can be attached or detached at the positions of the tool in a positioning map. Positions and positioning map can be stored in the type.

Tool control: Types Tab

Prerequisite

• Tool Management User or Tool Management Expert or Tool Management Admin role
• At least two types must be created.

• Types must be connected via positions.
  Create position for the type
• A positioning map must be created for the type.

• Tools and components must be created with the types.

Procedure

1. Call up Tool management > Tool control > Hierarchy tab.
2. Select Type.
3. Select Tool/Component.
4. Select a Position from the hierarchy.

   If the icon is not present at any position, no positioning map is stored.

5. At the position, open the positioning map with .
6. Select the position on the positioning map.

   The health status of the position is color coded. The selected position is indicated by a blue border.
   The Remove component button is grayed out if no component is attached.

   

7. To detach a component from the position, select the Remove component button.
8. To attach a component to the position, select a component from the Available components drop-down list using .

The component is attached to or detached from the location.
