Setting Up Nexeed Tool Management

In order to monitor and manage tools and components in Nexeed Tool Management, the following must be completed in the Tool management > Tool control menu:

Tool Management Expert or Tool Management Admin role

Procedure

1. Add tool types and component types.

   Creating Type

2. Add tools and components.

   Creating a Tool or Component or Importing Tools or Components

3. Release tools and components.

   Configure the release status of the tool or component or Locking or Releasing Multiple tools or Components

Nexeed Tool Management is set up. Tools and components can be monitored and managed in the Tool management > Tool information menu along with their counters. The following settings can be made to set up Nexeed Tool Management further.

• To edit tool types and component types, continue with Configuring Type.

  If necessary, see Create a counter template for the type.

  If necessary, see Assign a property to a type or a group.

  If necessary, see Create position for the type.

• To edit tools and components, continue with Configure the tool or component.

  If necessary, see Configuring Limits for Tool or Component Counters.

  If necessary, refer to Enter or select the value of a property in the tool or component.

• To connect tools and components in the hierarchy, continue with Attaching and Releasing Tools and Components in the Hierarchy.
• To divide tool types and component types into groups, continue with Tool control: Groups tab tab.
• To set up properties, continue with Tool Management: Properties tab.
• To set up notifications, continue with Settings: Notifications tab tab.
